The Weekly Planets and Stars – August 27-September 2, 2012

The Week of the Blue Moon …

Blue Moon, is a song written before my time but one I’m very fond of.  It was written by two gentlemen from New York, Richard Rogers (a Cancerian) and Lorenz Hart (a Taurus), two signs that get along pretty well.  Perhaps you remember this song as sung by Mel Torme aka The Velvet Fog who is a Virgo, born on September 13, or the Elvis Presley version which was released 56 years ago this week on August 31, 1956 – another very Virgo date.

What’s a Blue Moon?

The Blue Moon is so called because it’s the second full Moon in one month.  On the first day of August we had a full Moon in Aquarius and on the last day of August we will experience another full Moon in Pisces.  Both of these full Moons surround the powerful new Moon in Leo that occurred on August 17.

This Week

Mercury is getting ready to move into Virgo, but not before he stirs the pot with Pluto and Uranus.  He can’t help it.   He tries to make up for it on Wednesday when he forms a more congenial angle to Saturn in Libra but we’ll all feel better when Mercury settles into his 2nd home, Virgo, on Friday.  Mercury will oppose Neptune in Pisces on Saturday but it shouldn’t affect your Labor Day Weekend, as long as you double check your facts on any written or legal documents.  The same goes for Friday when the Libran Sun opposes Uranus in Aries (wait to sign documents) – hopefully you’ll be enjoying yourself instead.

  • Monday – August 27

Mercury, still in Leo, forms an itchy and uncomfortable alignment to Pluto in Capricorn that I can only equate to wearing a raw wool sweater in August, only not so hot.
