Weekly Planets and Stars

Happy New Year everyone! It really is going to be a good one. I can feel it. I know that’s a rehash of last week’s article ending statement, but I’m still feeling it, are you?

The beginning of the week is fairly quiet astrologically speaking, which is nice as we try to settle back into our everyday lives after all the hustle and bustle of the holidays. Back to school, back to work and back to life in the fast lane.

Saturday – January 7 – Mercury sextiles Saturn

Mercury makes a lovely angle to Saturn, Capricorn’s ruler, and if you neglected making a New Year’s resolution, that’s good, because today is the day to do it. Communicative Mercury also sextiles dreamy Neptune in forward-thinking Aquarius. Dreams can give you clues to the future, but can also create illusions of the future. Dream all you want, but remain realistic too.

Sunday – January 8 – Mercury enters Capricorn

Again communications seem goal oriented as Capricorn likes to get things done. The future is very much on your mind. As Mercury trines Jupiter on this day, it reminds you to keep your eye on future plans but to wait before you put them to action. Things may happen to make you alter your plans as Mercury also squares Uranus. Expect the unexpected.

Monday – January 9 – Full Moon in Capricorn

The Moon is ruled by Cancer, Capricorn’s opposite sign. Mixing emotions with business can either enhance your work or make you think from the heart rather than the head. Instead of seeing them as opposing factions, use the strength of the full moon to make the most of both world, enhancing your creative side.

Mercury is making angles all over the map this week, so communications will be affected. Use this week to reaffirm the changes you want to make in the New Year. You’ll be aided by hard at work Capricorn and passionate Cancer. It’s a nice boost to the New Year-your year!
